Lessons

Here is the class outline:

1. Lesson 1: Cell Theory

Oct 24, Roxas City

This lesson demonstrates your understanding of the cell theory. The historic cell theory states that living organisms are made of cells, that cells are the basic unit of structure/organization, and that cells come from pre-existing cells. But before this theory became universally accepted, there were important events, people, and controversies that happened. And to give us more depth in completing the puzzle in the wacky history of cell theory, let us all learn from this lesson and after going through it, this competency is expected: Explain the postulates of the cell theory (STEM_BIO11/12-Ia-c-1)

2. Lesson 2: Cell Structure and Functions

After going through this module, you are expected to: 1. identify the different organelles within a cell; 2. describe the structure and function of cellular organelles; 3. explain and give analogies related to the parts and function of the cell

3. Lesson 3: Cell Types and Cell Modifications

After going through this module, you are expected to: a. distinguish prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells according to their distinguishing features (STEM_BIO11/12-Ia-c-3); b. classify different cell types (of plant/animal tissues) and specify the functions of each (STEM_BIO11/12-Ia-c-4); and c. describe some cell modifications that lead to adaptation to carry out specialized functions (e.g., microvilli, root hair) (STEM_BIO11/12-Ia-c-5)
